Builder & Engineer Awards 2007

Wednesday, 10 October 2007

The fourth annual Builder & Engineer Awards were held on Wednesday October 10th at The Palace Hotel, Manchester with over 600 attendees representing over 150 companies across the UK.

We were delighted that the guest speaker on the evening was Dr Peter Bonfield, chief executive of the BRE. His fifteen year career in construction has focused on driving innovation and improved sustainability across all construction sectors. He has led major initiatives in the areas of new build and existing housing, as well as in commercial and public sector buildings. Dr Bonfield has also helped to create for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) the sustainable development strategy for the Olympics and has the role of leader for construction products to be used in the build programme for the games.

Roevin Management Services were main sponsors for the ‘Consulting Engineer of the Year’ and Keith Gallagher, Managing Director of Roevin (centre right) was pleased to present this prestigious award to the winning Arup team.

“This was a fantastic event for Roevin, Gallagher commented, and the fact that the four finalists are clients of ours made the decision very difficult as each company excels in its own right. However someone has to win and the panel, which I was not on I hasten to add, did a thorough job and I was very pleased to present the award to the Arup team.”
