As Business Development Manager Responsible for the sales of our clients products within an assigned territory (defined by geography, market, product or account portfolio) within our clients North West Europe sales area. The primary purpose is to protect existing business and pursue new opportunities. You will be expected to travel extensively within the sales territory.

As the prime point of contact with customers, you are expected to represent the appropriate ethos and image of client at all times, and to the highest standard.
You will be expected to spend approximately 60% of the time travelling and visiting customers within the North West Europe sales area.

Main responsibilities:

-Identify, pursue and secure profitable business to meet the objectives of the Entity Business Plan, by both protecting existing business (50%) and generating new business (50%).
-Maintain close contact with assigned customers, and provide them with a constant level of excellent customer service.
-Make effective proposals and quotations to customers within the agreed pricing policy, and approved commercial terms.
-Develop and maintain accurate sales forecast information for assigned territory.
-Maintain a good understanding of the products and services being sold.
-Prepare a sales plan under the direction of the Business Development Manager.
-Report regularly to management on activities and opportunities within assigned territory.
-Represent and promote the business effectively by delivering their sales proposition to customers at all levels, to persuade them to buy from the business and to reinforce the clients 'brand'.
-Understand the assigned markets, including competitor activity, and monitor the wants and needs of the customers.

Qualifications & experience required:

-A substantial amount of relevant experience and practical experience in business-to-business technical sales, some of which has been in a relevant engineering industry.
-HND or BSc degree or equivalent in an Engineering subject
-Proven specific capabilities in: selling, relationship building, negotiation, contract development, contract management, business development/growth
-Proven specific capabilities in: Business and International strategy, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational ability, facilitation skills, presentation skills
-Excellent people and communication skills in English.
-Good understanding of business processes and IT tools (especially Forecasting tool, CRM etc)
