We have an opening for a Contracts Quantity Surveyor to join our clients organisation based just outside Glasgow.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Global Organisation who provides services and solutions to the oil and gas industry.

Role Overview:
Work closely with the Contracts Manager, providing a supporting role in the delivery and monitoring of a project (s), by systematically and efficiently managing contract execution and analysis of the situation as they occur for the purpose of maximising financial and operational performance.
At the tender stage working closely with the Tender Manager both in the preparation of Fabrication budgets, rates and prices as well as assisting the legal counsel with the contractual analysis for the project.
Integrated into the group Contract Management Community set up by the Operational Performance Director.
Operationally and functionally responsible to the Contracts Manager .

Main Duties:

Provide commercial input and assistance to the project supporting/assisting the Project Manager's with the timely preparation of contractual notices and correspondence so that entitlements to additional price and/or time for completion are preserved.
Supporting the Construction Dept in the commercial management of the Fabrication Contractors in overseas during the construction phase of a Project both remotely and directly when required.
Ensure preparation and maintenance of contract documentation during the project life cycle.
Awareness and reporting to the Contracts Manager and the Project Manager's of contractual entitlements to change orders and claims as well as potential dispute situations with customers, partners, subcontractors and suppliers as they occur.
Preparation of variations in conjunction with the Contracts Manager / Project Manager's for a timely resolution in order to safeguard the commercial position of the project.
Preparation of claims in conjunction with the Contracts Manager / Project Manager and the legal counsel to ensure resolution of claims as the project progresses, maximizing opportunities whilst maintaining good relations with clients and partners at all times up to completion of the project
Provide assistance to the Project Managers with the recovery of monies against overdue milestones payments on contracts.

Make the project team members aware, coach them and increase their understanding with regard to the project contractual documents, the obligations of the Parties and contractual risks.
Assist in Tender risk and opportunity assessments.
Identification and defining strategy in conjunction with the Contracts Manager and legal counsel for the management of disputes and potential project related disputes
Early identification and reporting of potential insurance claim situations
Drafting or reviewing of agreements including subcontracts and major supply agreements prior to issue by the Company to the Vendor.
Identification and analysis of project related risk and opportunities

Other duties that may be required from time to time, in line with company objectives.

Ideal candidates will hold a relevant degree or equivalent and be willing to travel overseas when required.
