On behalf of our client we have an opening for an experienced Production Planner to join their organisation in Ayrshire on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Production Control Supervisor you will be required to generate accurate manufacturing process routes in line with established business processes which allow accurate and timely manufacture of products that meet customer requirements in terms of quality, cost and on time delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create/amend part manufacture routes in line with customer BOM, drawing and/or specification requirements.
Liaise with manufacturing engineers to ensure most efficient method for manufacture is utilized.
Review work centre loading and plan accordingly to minimize overloads where possible.
Manage allocated workload in line with work order start dates ensuring production release on time.
React to sub-contract offload requests ensuring BOM structure is amended and routing reflects change of scope to drive purchasing demand for sub-contract services.
Review NCR's and issue appropriate re-work/modification work orders.
Ensure material/parts requested are suitable to the scope of work required and highlight any issues to supply chain/project management.
Review and implement customer engineering changes and highlight any issues to relevant process owners/line manager.
Contribute to departmental procedures and wider business policy as part of a continuous improvement culture.
Follow and enforce all HSE policies and statutory requirements avoiding risk to yourself and others.

The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail capabilities, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to self-manage effectively in a fast paced, fluid environment with a flexible approach to workload.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a planning/process routing related role within engineering manufacturing.
Working knowledge/understanding of machining, welding/fabrication, coating, assembly and testing.
Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and BOM's.
Strong IT skills including advanced use of ERP systems and common office packages such as MS Office or G-Suite.
Willingness to learn and adapt with a flexible approach to the role.
General understanding of MRP principles and demand planning.

Could be open to someone from an engineering background with good understanding of proccess and who has experience of using EXCEL
