Technical Author
Location : Hook, Hampshire
Initial contract length: 6 Months
Rate: up to £35.30 p/h Umbrella (Inside IR53)

Our Client, who is the leader in Aviation Engineering for rotary wing platforms, is looking to employ a Technical Author at their facility at RAF Odiham for an initial 6 month contract.
The role will involve:
*Interfacing with internal and external customers to investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to publication contract deliverables.
*Analysing customer publications change requests raised at source in support of ongoing CH47 Chinook aircraft and component maintenance manual revision services.
*Advise, research and validate requested technical changes ensuring full accountability and compliance
*Compile, register and present evidence based source documentation packs to permit immediate specialist officer approval and progression under the MoD F765 process.
*Maintenance of data files and supporting metrics that permit trend analysis is a core requirement.

The ideal candidate will have:
*A degree in related discipline and 3 to 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
*A solid understanding of aircraft and component maintenance procedures, specifications and standards with a working knowledge of the Ministry of Defence F765 process.
*Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
*Demonstrate a solid understanding of configuration management and control.
*The ability to write clear, concise technical prose within a range of documentation sets (Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals).
*Working knowledge of S1000D Specification, Simplified English and the MS Office tool set specifically; excel, word and power point.
*The ability for multi-tasking in a diverse and demanding technical environment while maintaining a highly positive attitude in conducting his daily activities.
*CH47 / Rotary wing experience
