Our client, a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging, is looking to appoint a Treasury Accountant to be based in Caerphilly. The contact is initially 4-month contract.

Role Overview

- Control all reporting of treasury transactions, including inter-company accounting and prepare reconciliations of key ledger accounts
- Manage all aspects of the Group's hedge accounting process, including review of initial hedge set up, hedge documentation and effectiveness testing
- Assist with the ongoing development of the Group's Treasury management System (IT2) and accounting system (SAP)
- Liaise with auditors and internal customers on matters relating to treasury and hedge accounting
- Keep abreast of changes to accounting standards and regulations (in particular IFRS 9) and ensure the organisation is aware of new reporting and disclosure requirements

Key Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports required by Group Treasury and the Shared Service Centre
- Support the Treasury budgeting and forecasting process
- Provide routine and ad-hoc analysis as requested by Divisions and Group Finance

Accounting Activities
- Ensure Treasury accounting is completed on timely basis in SAP and disclosures in the Group HFM consolidation system to meet internal and external deadlines
- Seek ways to improve the treasury accounting process

Account Reconciliation & Compliance
- Manage Treasury compliance (supported by Group Treasury)

Person Specification

Education & Certifications
- Ideally educated to degree level and fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)

Job Specific Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system
- Experience of management and financial reporting
- Good understanding of accounting for treasury transactions, including derivatives
- Previous experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is desirable

Personal Characteristics
- Able to work in a busy environment and work to tight reporting deadlines
- Work independently to prepare monthly reports and analysis
- Flexible worker who can pick up and complete ad-hoc tasks when required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A competent computer user with intermediate or better Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to produce work to an excellent standard, paying meticulous attention to detail at all times
